Our Technical capability
Technology is an important part of our bindery service, and we have a commitment to ensuring we stay up-to-date on international trends and developments. Our equipment includes: Our Chain Stitcher -the Muller Martini Prima Plus- complements our folding machines with standard stitch and trim services with the added advantage of in line drilling and 2 up stitching. Running at a maximum at 14,000 books per hour. Stitching up to a maximum book size of 475mm x 300mm, down to a minimum book size of 90 x 63mm. Camera sensors and barcode readers will automatically reject unprinted sheets or incorrect sections when folding and saddle stitching - important in ensuring a perfect product. Our perfect binding equipment - the new Wohlenberg binder - gathers, creases, binds and trims all in line. With a maximum binding size 370 x 320mm with a minimum spine size of 2mm and a maximum spine size of 62mm and up to 5000 books per hour. This binder offers PUR gluing to ensure strength and flexibility in binding and also a gauzing station as a cost effective alternative for case bound books. Horizon Binding Unit - this machines offers perfect (adhesive) binding and is ideal for those smaller runs or digitally produced publications With the ability to bind a book down to a 3mm spine. Casebinding - full in house case binding line - offering both sewn options and PUR gluing Automated punching and wiro binding unit, one of just a few automated wiro binding units in New Zealand, offering a range of flexible wiro binding finishing options such as standard, full and half Canadian, reverse, easel and calendar options
4 x Stahl folding units, with an option to glue both 8 page and 12 page books on both coated and uncoated stocks, and perf in line. Folding from a maximum sheet size of 1020 x 720mm down to 210 x 99mm, with up to 8 consecutive folds. We can also produce double gate fold brochure's utilising this equipment. Unique Booklet Personalisation and collation - A new addition to our Bindery is the FBM unit. This machine is a world first in its current format, used for intelligent collating, unique personalisation and bar-coding of finished booklets up to 20mm in thickness.
